The 135th winner of the 1000 Guineas, held on Friday 30th April 1948 over the Rowley Mile, was Queenpot (6/1), a bay filly by Big Game out of Poker Chip, owned by Sir Percy Loraine. The winner won by a head in 1 minute 41.8 secs, with a length and a half back to the third. A field of 22 runners contested the race which was worth £9000 (Equivalent to £447,600 in 2017)
